Czech-Colombian collaboration in environmental protection has begun

On 9 December 2019, the Faculty of Environmental Sciences organized a workshop on the possibilities of Czech-Colombian collaboration in the field of biodiversity research, climate change and water management. The workshop followed up on the initiated discussions on environmental topics during the spring diplomatic mission to Peru and Colombia, during which FES representatives accompanied the Minister of the Environment Richard Brabec. The workshop and the following weekly program were attended by representatives of the main universities of Colombia - Prof. Gerard Olivar Tost and Edier V. Aristizábal G. of Universidad Nacional de Colombia and Dr. Johnny Valencia Calvo of Universidad de Medellín. The workshop and the subsequent discussions of individual work teams are aimed at partial projects focused on hydrology, use of biochar, satellite data and monitoring systems of unique Colombian fauna.
